About the main speakers


Rick Chappell is professor in the Departments of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics & Statistics at the University of Wisconsin, USA. His principle interests lie in the analysis and design of clinical trials, link estimation in generalized linear models, bivariate and nonparametric survival analysis, and models in radiobiology. He is the author of numerous publications in statistics.

Jianguo Sun is professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of Missouri, USA. His research interests are AIDS research, biostatistics, chemometrics, longitudinal data analysis, microarray analysis and last but not least survival analysis. He is well known for his book “The Statistical Analysis of Interval-censored Failure Time Data” (Springer Verlag, Statistics for Biology and Health Series, 2005).

Jerry Lawless is professor in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo. His research and scholarly interests include the analysis of lifetime and event history data, reliability, statistical methods for systems and processes and statistical methods and theory in general. He is well known for the book “The Statistical Analysis of Recurrent Events” (Springer Verlag, Statistics for Biology and Health Series, 2007) which he wrote jointly with Richard Cook.
